    Phoenix Suns president and chief executive Rick Welts is leaving the team to pursue other interests. Welts, the first openly gay senior executive in pro sports, announced Friday that he is leaving the team on Sept. 15 Suns owner Robert Sarver said the business side of the organization will report to general counsel Jason Rowley as the team searches for a new president.

    Suns Former Dial CEO Casper named Suns president (AP)

    The former president and CEO of an international consumer goods company that includes what once was the Dial Corp. has been named president of business and non-basketball operations for the Phoenix Suns. Brad Casper was introduced at a news conference Monday by Suns owner Robert Sarver. He replaces Rick Welts, who resigned and last month was named president and CEO of the Golden State Warriors.
