When the NBA introduced the three-point line in the 1979-1980 season, the Philadelphia 76ers were enjoying one of the greatest runs in the franchise's history, winning the Eastern Conference title in 1980 and 1982 before winning the NBA title in 1983. After nearly two decades on the outside looking in, Allen Iverson led Philly back to the NBA Finals in 2001, falling to Shaq, Kobe, and the Lakers.
