I haven't heard of the 90 minute fight, but it was a possibility based on the rules in the early days of the UFC.
I'd imagine so. I haven't heard anything to suggest otherwise, but if the rematch isn't relatively soon (anything later than the April card in Toronto), he may not want to wait because that would possibly leave him out of the Octagon for 8 months or so. If the wait would be too long, I think they may match him up against somebody like George Sotiropoulos and the winner of that will fight the winner of Edgar/Maynard 3.
I don't see why he will receive anything of significance. He didn't really get injured or suffer any serious cuts or anything like that. If anything, Edgar will probably receive a longer suspension than Maynard due to the thrashing Maynard put him through in the first round.
And what do you mean by the merging comment? Merge what, exactly? You can't really merge the WEC and UFC belts without having the WEC and UFC champions fight each other and it has been clearly stated that Edgar and Maynard are having an immediate rematch.
