I'll take the Heat, I haven't done a league before so if someone can briefly explain it to me that would be cool. I would be active and everything.
First off, let me say, if Ronnie and Jamie don't want it, then it's all good, we're not gonna do it. But neither have answered my questions, so I'm jsut taking the initiative - we'll see what they think.
Anyways......
Welcome to NBA Dimensions first ever Retro-Fantasy League!
That's right. Retro-Fantasy. Due to some people wanting Retro, and others wanting Fantasy, I figured, the hell with it, why not both?
Anyways, we're going to be starting prior to the 2003 NBA regular season. That means that the player pool will consist of all players that were active during the 2002 season, PLUS the 2003 Draft Class. For people that do not understand that statement, in other words, yes, rookie rated LeBron's, Dwades, etc. will be available.
This will get the GM to think....should I take a Vince Carter and compete now, or take a Caron Butler and get ready for the future? Draft wisely, once you post your pick, it's in.
We're going to do a snake draft, which means the team with the 1st pick will also have the 58th, the 2nd the 57th, the 3rd the 56th, etc.
Player ratings will be available prior to and during the draft, don't worry about that. However, I will not be releasing the Index until after signups, because that will simulate a random draft order. I don't want to do the draft order until everyone is signed up, so that it is 100% fair to anybody that might sign up later than others, as a result of them not seeing this thread, shit like that.
Also know that I am going to be requiring a draft wishlist from EVERY GM. I don't have any interest in doing a 3 day draft, so if you're gonna be around, great, I still want a wishlist from everyone. We'll talk more about that in a day or two though when I release the index, and draft order.
So, lets get started. I've never run a league before, but I'm excited too. And hopefully you guys help out to make this a great league.
I'm gonna be the Kings, cos the 02 Kings are my favorite team, and my only FBB ring ever was with the Kings. Let's see what they can do for me again

Basically, you're taking a team like you would in 2k, and doing an association. You have your players ratings, their contracts, their stats, and you can see them all, on a text based website called the index, which I'll make available after sign-ups. But unlike 2k, you're trading with real people, us, the other teams GM's. And we do FA bids, drafts, everything. The only thing is that we don't play any games, it's as if you simmed the entire 2k season. That's what this is, all a simulation. When we get going I'll keep explaining to you and help you out with shit. My first sim league was Dr. J's on the last NBAD, and I got the hang of it after 2 weeks or so. All the GM's here are some of the best out there, you've got a lot of experienced guys here that can help you out.

Suns I guess.
If we are using the Vancouver Grizzlies, I'll take them. If it is the Memphis Grizzlies, I'll take Seattle.
