I think everyone pretty much covered it, but what kind of computer you get really depends on what you're studying. If you work a lot with editting software and graphics, Macbook is probably the way to go. I find that PCs are normal for just mundane things, and if you don't need a high power laptop, something like a basic Acer, Asus, Lenovo, HP are all good choices for what you pay. Macbooks are a little bit more expensive, but they are a little bit more user friendly and their support if very good.

My brother bought a toshiba laptop about 5 years ago, ended up failing on him after a year. Lucky he got a warranty right? Got it sent off to Toshiba, apparently got it fixed. Came back, 2 weeks later it broke down again, sent it back. Came back fine, broke down again. So my uncle marked the mother board as they said they where gonna replace it. He got it back, worked fine, crashed. And the whole time they didn't change the motherboard. So he complained to Toshiba and they gave him like a 2500 buck laptop at the time.
But Toshiba can't be trusted.![]()

Toshiba has some good products, though if I were to go for a PC I'd prefer Hewlett Packard. Both companies are better than Acer, though.
Perhaps.
This is why I'm getting a Macbook![]()
