    Magic & Thunder

    ORLANDO RECEIVE
    James Harden
    Eric Maynor
    Daequan Cook

    OKLAHOMA RECEIVE
    2013 First Round Pick
    Glen Davis
    JJ Redick

Oklahoma will not be able to retain their main group of players so they ship Harden while he has some value. JJ Redick has proved to be a great bench player and can try to fill the hole that Harden leaving creates. Glen Davis is also a guy who fits their culture of winning. The Magic get Maynor who is a risk but another point guard. Daequan Cook is used solely to fill our the contracts and is a small expiring for the Magic.

I do also think that this years draft is not as deep as we think. We should be focusing on next year (magic). Harden will be better than any player in this upcoming draft. I am guessing our pick is top 5 projected. It would also be nice to have it top 3 protected. But that would only tarnish the value for the Thunder.

    Two Things

    1. Big Baby is owed $18 Million over the next three years.

    2. Thunder want to compete this year. This trade essentially throws away one of their best chances at winning a Championship.

Harden is not going to be a Thunder next season unless he takes a paycut. I would have thought that the Thunder would garner what they could for him instead of perhaps getting nothing.

I am not sure if I got the value of the trade correctly. But Reddick is a very nice bench player and would do well with great players around him. Glen Davis is a energy guy who can defend some of the best big men in the game. I think they just get deeper with that trade.

Maybe I am wrong though. They are still a contender in my eyes if this trade goes through.

Things to know about the Harden/Thunder Situation

Harden will play for the Thunder next season.
There is a good chance he signs an extension.
There is a slight chance he is traded on the deadline.
There is a slight chance he enters F/A as a restricted free agent and walks.
The Thunder are willing to pay luxury tax according to every insider/local source.

I feel stupid. I completely forgot that Harden has bird rights. The Thunder would be stupid to not dip into luxury tax. I guess this trade is nothing more than a pipedream.

I would love the trade, but it would never happen.
