The Philadelphia 76ers had gotten to the brink of the playoffs almost by accident. Sixers fans like myself briefly feared that their late season slump would knock them out of the postseason, yet two recent losses by the Milwaukee Bucks quelled those fears. Still, the Sixers could have still used a win over the red hot Indiana Pacers on April 21 to actually earn their way in.
