Grizzlies' Henry on way back from knee injury - USATODAY.com
This is really good news, because I've always like Henry. Before the injury, it seemed he had Paul George type potential defensively and he created shots for himself but couldn't capitalize on them because he's not a very good jumpshooter (something he has to work on).MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — Memphis Grizzlies general manager Chris Wallace says second-year guard Xavier Henry has improved in his recovery from a knee injury and is set to play a significant role for the team this season.
Wallace told The Commercial Appeal that Henry, a shooting guard, will effectively serve as the team's first-round pick headed into the coming season.
Henry, the 12th overall selection in the 2010 draft, played in 38 games last season, but was plagued by right knee soreness since March.
Henry shot 40 percent overall and 11.8 percent from 3-point range.
Henry says he's feeling "more explosive" and will start working out with other players in a few weeks.
Henry says Memphis never really got to see his game.

He better sit tight with this lockout.![]()
