I think so. What I do when I see spam in the New Posts function is tick the check box next to their thread (only need to check one of their threads) scroll to the bottom the New Posts function and click Moderation Tools then Delete Threads as spam, then just check ban user, delete all treads etc. You can also do that in a topic, just check the post and then scoll down to Moderation Tools (bottom right, near the page number thing).
